Bio:

Jenny Smuland is a senior digital, media, and transformation leader with 20 years of experience shaping how complex organizations communicate, scale, and innovate across healthcare, life sciences, and mission-driven sectors. She currently serves as Director of Digital Acceleration (Channel & Web Strategy) within Global Oncology Medical Communications & Information at AstraZeneca, where she leads enterprise strategies focused on compliant content discoverability, digital channel innovation, advanced measurement, and the application of AI to accelerate access to medical information ecosystems.

Prior to her current role, Jenny served as Associate Director of Media at AstraZeneca and founded InStrat Media, an independent media agency advising healthcare and public-sector organizations on modern media strategy and digital transformation. Her career includes senior roles at The Pew Charitable Trusts, ICF Next, the National Education Association, and Ogilvy, where she partnered with cross-functional teams to deliver large-scale, high-impact initiatives spanning public health, advocacy, and evidence-based communications.

Notably, while at Ogilvy, Jenny co-authored a CDC research study examining the use of search engine marketing to connect the public with authoritative gynecologic cancer information - work that continues to influence her patient and clinician-first approach to digital strategy today.

Jenny brings a pragmatic, execution-oriented perspective to conversations on AI, omnichannel engagement, digital governance, and transformation in regulated environments, grounded in both agency-side and in-house leadership experience.
